Q: Is this DVD redundant with your book? Do they cover the same things?

A: No, this DVD complements the book nicely. If you're a Maya user, the DVD adds lots of demonstrations of specific tricks and techniques, and focuses in detail on specific controls and options in Maya and Mental Ray.

Q: Is this DVD redundant with your classes or CG Workshops?

A: Somewhat. Some of my other teaching became like a version 1.0, with this DVD being the version 2.0. If you attended my Advanced Rendering class at the Academy of Art University, you'll recognize some of the lectures and techniques I covered there. If you have taken my CG Workshops on-line through cgsociety, some of the video material on the DVD overlaps with some of the video downloads I provided for the workshop. There's also a lot of new material here, though. Compare this detailed outline with your class syllabus.
